The bride donates a kidney to her husband's ex-wife

Two days after the wedding, an American woman donated a kidney to her husband's ex-wife. The incident took place in Florida, USA in November last year, but the issue has come to the fore in recent international media reports.

According to the report, the woman named Debbie Neil Strickland was married to a man named Jim Marthi on November 22 last year. Before that, of course, Jim-Debbie had been in love for 10 years. Just two days after the wedding, Jim donated his kidney to his ex-wife, Melin. Jim broke up with Melin 20 years ago. However, after the breakup, Jim's relationship with Melin was good. They were taking care of the children together. 

Melin recently had a kidney transplant. Jim-Melin's daughter was pregnant at the time. Debbie became very emotional thinking that the pregnant girl would lose her mother. So just two days after the wedding, he donated a kidney to Melin. 

"As if God was telling me, your kidneys have matched, you have to do it," Debbie said. Her daughter is pregnant. I wanted Jim-Melin's daughter to be with me when she gave birth.

Debbie and Melin now call themselves Kidney Sisters. Debbie has developed a good friendship with her husband's ex-wife. This kind of love has fascinated many people where there is more room for jealousy. On the day of the operation, Dim took Debbie to Melin's house. Now the three have become more mature friendships with each other.

Light points are available only in insecticide form. Normal players will be able to exchange light points as a combat supply using energy stores. Keep in mind, Travers-Insected mode has to be played just like a normal match, everyone has to survive on top.

Windows 11 is coming

TechGiant Microsoft has announced the closure of Windows 10 from October 14, 2025. According to tech website Tech Radar, Microsoft will continue to take updates after the 2025 deadline, so users can switch to the new operating system.

US-based technology company Microsoft has said it will not bring any more versions after version 10. But now, according to a teaser shared on the company's Twitter, Windows 11 version will come later this month. An event list on Microsoft's website will also announce what Windows will bring to the fore on June 24.

Meanwhile, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadela said, "The next generation of Windows updates will be one of the most important parts of the last decade."

 Incidentally, Windows '10 May 2020 update' had more problems. Many important features have been lost in this update. One of them was 'Fresh Start'. This feature allows users to re-install Windows 10 without losing data. This tool plays a very important role if there is a serious problem with the PC. Users have complained to Microsoft about these issues in the last few months.

According to Forbes, "Windows 10 users have been turning away from this operating system for a long time due to multiple problems."

রূপকথায় প্রাণীদের বহু বছর পর ঘুম ভাঙানোর কাহিনি সম্পর্কে আমরা সকলেই কম-বেশি পরিচিত। বাস্তবেও কিছু কিছু প্রাণীর মধ্যে এই ঘটনা দেখা গেলেও এখনও স্তন্যপায়ীদের মধ্যে এ রকম কোনও প্রমাণ মেলেনি।

এক ধরনের কচ্ছপ ৩-৪ বছর ঘুমিয়ে কাটায়। শীতকালে সাপ-ব্যাঙের ঘুমের কথা তো সকলেরই জানা। তেমন কিছু মাছও না খেয়ে ঘুমিয়ে কাটাতে পারে বহু দিন। কিন্তু তাই বলে টানা ২৪ হাজার বছর!

গবেষকদের চমকে দিয়ে এই ক্ষুদ্রাকার প্রাণীর ঘুম ভাঙল ২৪ হাজার বছর পর। এত দিন জীবন-মৃত্যুর মধ্যবর্তী দশায় ছিল সেটি।

সম্প্রতি সুদূর উত্তরে সাইবেরিয়ার আলাজেয়া নদীর কাছ থেকে নমুনা সংগ্রহ করে এই প্রাণীর হদিস পান বিজ্ঞানীরা।

এই জীবটি রটিফার প্রজাতির। এক ধরনের আনুবীক্ষণিক জীব। বহুকোষী এই জীবটির ব্যতিক্রমী ক্ষমতা রয়েছে।

এই জীবটি ১৬৯৬ সালে প্রথম খুঁজে পান জন হ্যারিস। জীবটি সর্বোচ্চ অর্ধ মিলিমিটার দীর্ঘ হতে পারে। মূলত স্বাদু পানিতেই এদের দেখা মেলে। এদের মুখের কাছে চাকার মতো অংশ থাকায় হুইল জীবও বলা হয়।

প্রতিকূল পরিবেশে এরা নিজেদের সমস্ত জৈবিক ক্রিয়া স্বেচ্ছায় বন্ধ করে দিতে পারে। এই ভাবে তারা মৃতের মতো থেকে যেতে পারে।

এই জীবটির দীর্ঘ বছর ঘুমিয়ে থাকার প্রমাণ এই প্রথম নয়। এই প্রমাণ আগেও পেয়েছেন বিজ্ঞানীরা।

এর আগে দেখা গেছে, হিমাঙ্কের ২০ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াস নীচের তাপমাত্রাতেও এক দশক ঘুমিয়ে কাটাতে পারে এই জীব। কিন্তু এবার নিজের ঘুমের যাবতীয় রেকর্ড ভেঙে ফেলেছে সেটি।

আলাজেয়া নদীর কাছ থেকে সংগ্রহ করা নমুনায় যে রটিফেরা মিলেছে তার ঘুমের বয়স অন্তত ২৪ হাজার বছর। স্বাভাবিকভাবেই জীবটির বয়স আরও বেশি।

এমনকি গবেষণাগারে নমুনাটি আনার পর বিজ্ঞানীরা দেখেছেন, অনুকূল পরিবেশে সেটি আবার অযৌন জনন পদ্ধতিতে বংশবিস্তারও করতে সক্ষম। বিজ্ঞানীদের এই গবেষণা ‘কারেন্ট বায়োলজি’ নামে একটি জার্নালে প্রকাশিত হয়েছে

পৃথিবীর চেয়ে ৩ গুণ বড় নতুন গ্রহটিতে থাকতে পারে মেঘ

নতুন একটি গ্রহের সন্ধান পেয়েছেন জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞানীরা। নতুন গ্রহটি পৃথিবীর চেয়ে প্রায় ৩ গুণ বড়। গবেষকরা ওই গ্রহটির নাম দিয়েছেন TOI-1231 b। এটি পৃথিবী থেকে ৯০ আলোকবর্ষ দূরে। 

নাসা জানিয়েছে, নতুন গ্রহটিতে থাকতে পারে জলীয় বাষ্পে সম্পৃক্ত মেঘ। একটি লাল নক্ষত্রকে কেন্দ্র করে প্রদক্ষিণ করে এই গ্রহ। সেটি সূর্যের চেয়ে ছোট, কিন্তু অনেক বেশি পুরনো। 

TOI-1231 b গ্রহটির ২৪ দিনে তার 'সূর্য'-কে একবার প্রদক্ষিণ করে। অর্থাৎ মাত্র ২৪ দিনেই বছর। ফলে সেটি যে তার নক্ষত্রের বেশ কাছাকাছিই প্রদক্ষিণ করে তা বলাই যায়। সেক্ষেত্রে তো নক্ষত্রের প্রচন্ড উত্তাপে গ্রহটি ভীষণ উত্তপ্ত হওয়ার কথা? এমনটা কিন্তু নয়। এর কারণ অবশ্যই নক্ষত্রের ক্ষুদ্র আকৃতি। ফলে, বেশ ঠান্ডার দিকেই রয়েছে TOI-1231 b। এর সঙ্গে আমাদের সৌর জগতের নেপচুন গ্রহের বেশ মিল রয়েছে, এমনটাই জানিয়েছেন গবেষকরা।

নাসা জানিয়েছে, এই গ্রহে থাকতে পারে মেঘ। জলীয় বাষ্প দ্বারা তা সম্পৃক্ত হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা প্রবল। নাসার জেট প্রোপালশান ল্যাবরেটরির বহির্জগত গবেষক ড. জেনিফার বার্টের নেতৃত্বে চলা গবেষণায় এই গ্রহ আবিষ্কৃত হয়। তিনি ও ইউনিভার্সিটি অব নিউ মেক্সিকোর গবেষক ডিয়ানা ড্রাগোমি সংবাদমাধ্যমে TOI-1231 b-এর বিষয়ে ঘোষণা করেন।
